Crystal Walton

Imagine your baby has been removed by Social Services and you are doing everything in your power to have her returned. One day you open the Daily Mirror Tabloid to discover your baby is being used as an advertisement for adoptive parents! She is not free for adoption and you have been told to stay away from the media. What would you do?
This is so commonplace in the United States, we no longer pay attention to the story behind this child being in foster care. We have become numb to the effects the wrongful removal of a child from their parents has on the child and the entire family.
Is the UK following in the US's footsteps? It certainly appears this is what is happening!
Many have asked why Hope4KidZ has become involved in a child's life who lives half-way around the world. Because we believe in the constitutional right to speak out against a judicial process that is perceived as unfair and wrong. We care and we HOPE that the UK will not follow in the steps of the U.S.
A web mistress in California was threatened to have her entire web site shut down if she did not remove the story of the wrongful removal of Crystal Walton. When she sent this information to Hope4KidZ, we took action because overly broad gag orders render them vague and unenforceable!
Overly Broad Gag orders are unconstitutional in the United States and since the UK Tabloid, "let the cat out of the bag," how dare the London Courts threaten a U.S. citizen!
As was reported in the 2003 Spring Issue of CCLU NEWS: "....it is not otherwise reasonable to hide the actions of DCF and the Juvenile Court from public view. This case raised important questions about the cloak of secrecy surrounding juvenile proceedings. We are now considering a broader challenge to open up Juvenile Court proceedings to the press and public."
