FORT WORTH, Texas -- Corsicana police are investigating the death of a 16-month-old boy after bruises were found on the boy's head and shoulders.

Police received an emergency medical call shortly before 1 p.m. Monday to a house on the 3500 block of North Park[sic], where officials found an unresponsive child.

The boy was transported to Navarro Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The baby boy, his brother and three other children were under the care of a foster family at the time of the incident. The boy and his brother had only been living in the home since Wednesday.

Child Protective Services took the boy's brother and three other children to another home.

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed to determine the boy's cause of death.
