(Houston) -- A Houston woman has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for abusing her son. Geneva Foster received the sentence after pleading guilty to reckless injury to a child. The boy's father, 31-year-old Michael Ryan, was earlier sentenced to 35 years. The boy is now 14-years-old, and prosecutors say he was locked in an attic, beaten, and starved over a four-year period. They say Ryan punished the boy because he wasn't doing push-ups correctly. Authorities learned of the abuse after the child was brought to the hospital. Four other children are now in state custody.
