A medical investigation is underway involving the death of a four-month-old baby. The baby girl died just hours after being released from Cook's Children's Medical Center.
The Evans family called 911 and an ambulance rushed their four-month-old to the hospital Monday night after she suffered a mild seizure.

According to the parents, little Kimoni Evans had never had a health incident like that before, so they were shocked by what doctors told them.
"I waited for a few hours," said Kimoni's mother Kristin. "About midnight they said they'd given her a shot and that she was okay."
The family says medical staff told them Kimoni had a fever and that caused the seizure. But the Evans family says no one told them what caused the fever or offered to keep the child overnight.
When the family woke early the next morning to check the baby's temperature they found a tragic sight.
"I was wiping her face with a cool towel," Kristin explained. "She didn't move. I realized she wasn't breathing and I ran to my mom."
Kimoni's grandmother, Karen Evans, said the child wasn't breathing. "I tried to perform CPR, but I couldn't get her breathing." Kimoni was dead.
This time when the family left the hospital they returned with a piece of paper with Kimoni's tiny hand and foot prints on it, a lock of hair and no explanation about how she died or why the hospital didn't do more to care for her.
"I don't know if she had another seizure in her sleep or what," Kristin said. "If she had had doctors watching her she might still be alive."
Officials with Cook Children's say they're taking the matter very seriously and are conducting an investigation.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will also perform an autopsy to try and determine the cause of death.
