LUFKIN, Texas — Child Protective Services has taken custody of four youngsters who were living with their father at Lufkin motel when he was arrested in a pornography investigation.
The Lufkin Daily News reported Wednesday that CPS has placed the children, ages 12 and younger, in foster care. CPS spokeswoman Shari Pulliam says the agency continues its investigation.
Lufkin police in late January arrested 59-year-old Philip Charles Taylor on five counts of possession of child pornography. Police say the children were in the motel room when Taylor allegedly viewed child porn.
Detective David Cross says evidence on a computer found in the motel room is being analyzed.
Cross says Taylor's wife, who is the mother of the children, also lived at the motel with them but has not been charged. The children initially remained with her after their father's arrest.
