Aid to Boys in RTC Foster Care

Dulles High School's National Honor Society
Helping Young Adults In Foster Care

On April 28, three members of the National Honor Society of Dulles High School collected toiletries and $105, asking Hope4KidZ if we had children who could use them. I could name several hundred without thinking, and although you or I may not give a second thought to getting up in the morning and having a new toothbrush and our favorite toothpaste, these children had hit the "jackpot". In RTC Foster Care, having your own tube of toothqpaste, shampoo, body wash and toothbrush is a BIG DEAL. Having to choose seemed to be a fun challenge for the kids.

**I heard one saying, "Oh look, there's Closeup, yeah but there's the new whitening toothpaste; hey check out this soap; I need a new toothbrush real bad." Toiletries to children in foster careI thought to myself, if these children were at a regular high school, where they went home at night, they would not be getting excited over different kinds of toothpaste. The gratitude of these children left us with a very warm fuzzy feeling.

**Due to Confidentiality Reasons, we cannot take pictures of the residents, and this is a staff member and one of the boys helping him.
